4/21/202640 min

In this episode of The Changeover Podcast, we break down Justin’s run from qualifying to the Orlando final — including the unexpected changes that made the biggest difference.

From adjusting racket specs (and ditching the dampener) to letting ChatGPT handle meals, recovery, and tournament routines… this might be the most unconventional approach we’ve ever tried.

Jody also jumps back onto the ATP singles ranking list after competing in Ivory Coast, and we get into everything from red dirt tennis to mental strategies, altitude, and life on tour.

Plus: stories from the road, locker room moments, and a big retirement announcement.

You guys let me know what you're hearing. You let me know what you're hearing. [laughs] [laughs] [upbeat music] Welcome to the Change Over Podcast. My name is Justin Roberts. You've got over there a singles player. The man is back- [laughs] ... on the ATP Singles Ranking list. I'm about to call this man a singles specialist now. Uh, Jody McGinley is in the building with us today. Um, brother, how are you doing over there in Abidjan? When I last saw you, you had come from Tallahassee to watch me play a match, and the next day you were in the Ivory Coast. How are you living, brother?

  3. Jody McGinley· Co-host0:53

Yeah, bro, I was exhausted from just the amount of hours I drove. Like, even the week before from Mexico City, it was, like, flew from Mexico City to Miami, drove seven hours up to Tallahassee. So by the time I get, like, a little bit accustomed to, you know, the situation in Tallahassee, I lost, and then drove a few hours to see you. Drove down couple hours in South Florida, trained, gym, hit the, the flight. I was so tired, I slept, like, pretty much everything except for, like, maybe an hour and a half of the entire journey. So I actually got here very quick.

  4. Justin Roberts· Host1:28

    What was the route?

  5. Jody McGinley· Co-host1:28
