This special roundtable episode explores the vital role of mental fitness in reaching and sustaining peak performance.
In this special roundtable episode, in partnership with BetterHelp, hosts Jake Humphrey, Spencer Matthews, and Matt Willis reframe therapy as an essential "performance tool." By comparing mental maintenance to physical training, the trio highlights how proactive support is key to navigating the pressures of modern life and sustaining peak performance.
This conversation explores personal breakthroughs, from Jake’s experience with "Pure O" to Matt’s discovery of the power in asking, "How do I feel?" They discuss the value of having a "mental adult" in the room, a confidential professional who allows you to offload internal noise without the fear of burdening friends or family.
Whether you are facing a crisis or simply seeking self-understanding, this episode demonstrates that therapy provides the clarity needed to show up as your best self. It is a raw, unscripted reminder that seeking support is a proactive choice for anyone committed to long-term resilience and growth.

Throughout loads of episodes of On The Men, we've heard from our male guests that they felt so much pressure to not show weakness. But that narrative has shifted slightly, and now we're suddenly asking men to open up and wondering why that feels so hard. So today, I'm joined by two podcasting legends, Jake Humphrey from High Performance and Spencer Matthews from Untapped, and we're having a conversation that, if we're honest, a lot of men still avoid. We cover what's actually going on in our lives, why often it's so difficult to say our problems out loud, and what we can start to do differently. This is part of Say It Louder, our initiative we're running with BetterHelp over the next few months, where we're on a mission to encourage men to talk. Let's get into it. [gentle music] Right. Yeah, but I'm not right now at this moment.

Um, and, uh, I'm not right now, although I still have contact with my therapist. Uh, there are times in my life where I feel like I need it more than other times, but also I'm a massive believer in having it when you, when you're not in crisis, when like- Yeah ... when you don't feel you need it, like a kind of,
