Ore Oduba on His Hidden Porn Addiction, Stigma and Shame
6/8/20261 hr 8 min
TV presenter and broadcaster Ore Oduba joins us for an incredibly raw and unflinchingly honest conversation on pornography addiction, toxic masculinity, and grief.
Ore opens up about being introduced to explicit material at just nine years old and the devastating "duality" of spending 30 years hiding his addiction while living a highly successful public life.
This discussion dives deep into how repeated exposure to objectifying content rewires how young men see women, and how that culture feeds directly into the online manosphere. Following the tragic loss of his sister to suicide, Ore shares how he channeled his grief into purpose.
It's an urgent look at breaking the silence that stops men from seeking help, and the clarity that saved his life: for his children.
This episode covers the following themes: Addiction, Shame, Toxic Masculinity, Grief, and Recovery.

This is what addiction looks like. So many people are walking around in plain sight. Their life is on the floor. They create this duality of life in the dark and the projected life in the light. We're talking about porn, we're talking about pornography. Introduced to explicit adult material at nine years old, it became a thread for my entire life for 30 years. This world only gets worse until we intervene.
Matt Willis· Host0:29
All right. Thank you so much for coming on today.
Ore Oduba· Guest0:35
I am- I mean- ... stoked ...
Matt Willis· Host0:36

Ore Oduba· Guest0:40
Yeah.
Matt Willis· Host0:40
And, um, I was so grateful that you knew that you were coming on, 'cause I, 'cause I [laughs] meet certain people, and I- they're like, I saw them a few days ago, and then they're suddenly on the podcast, and I'm like, "Oh, wow." [laughs] [laughs] You know, I'm like, "Oh, great." So, like, like, people just don't know- No ... or don't realize, you know. So I'm- Matt, this- ... pleased to see you ...
Ore Oduba· Guest0:55
this has been a long time in the, in the making. 'Cause your team got in touch with me last summer- Yeah ... when I first started talking about addiction.
Matt Willis· Host1:03
Yeah.
Ore Oduba· Guest1:03
And at that point, there were just a series of dominoes that were sort of rallying in my life that led me to the point of actually deciding that I was gonna sp- start speaking about my addiction.
Matt Willis· Host1:13
Mm.
Ore Oduba· Guest1:14
And that was one of the early stages. I was kind of gauging to see what the response would be like.
Matt Willis· Host1:19
Yeah.
Ore Oduba· Guest1:20
And I remember s- speaking about, saying, like, I had lived for my whole life with this addiction, and just reams of support, just messages of support saying, "You're not the only one. You're not alone.
