About Us

Pale Blue Pod is an astronomy podcast for people who are overwhelmed by the universe but want to be its friend. Astrophysicist Dr. Moiya McTier and her best friend ConStar demystify space one topic at a time with open eyes, open arms, and open mouths (from so much laughing and jaw-dropping). By the end of each episode, the cosmos will feel a little less “ahhh too scary” and a lot more “ohhh, so cool!” New episodes every Monday.

Pale Blue Pod is a member of the Multitude Collective.

[upbeat music] Hi, welcome to Pale Blue Pod, the astronomy podcast for people who are overwhelmed by the universe but still wanna be its friend.

  2. Connie Gibbs· Host0:33

I'm Connie, and I'm overwhelmed by a lot of things, but especially the universe, and I also wanna be its friend. Thank you for introducing me, Moya.

  3. Moiya McTier· Host0:41

You're welcome. It's been my pleasure. And you have been a good friend to the universe. You've been learning more about it every week. I love to see it. Hi, everyone, I'm Dr. Moya McTier. I am a long time friend to the universe because I'm an astrophysicist. I'm a folklorist, so I've enjoyed learning the universe in many different ways. Today, I'm just gonna admit it, I'm feeling a little off. [gasps] The changing of the seasons- Yeah ... the, the world around us. Um- The world around us. Yeah, you know, personal cycles that I'm going through. I'm j- Yeah ... I'm having... I, I would like to have a moment to complain a, a, a little bit. [laughs] And so I think maybe we could have a recurring segment, not every episode, but, uh, we'll introduce a segment called a bone to pick- Ooh ... with the universe.

  4. Connie Gibbs· Host1:28

    Ah, yes.
