Brain Fog, Muscle Loss, Ariana Grande and the Netflix Doc You Need to Watch - 1307
6/17/202648 min
Chalene Johnson recorded this one on the road, starting in New York and wrapping up in Paros, Greece, and it might be one of the most information-packed episodes she's done all year.
There's a comparison being made right now that Chalene can't stop thinking about. Two women, both 32, both at the height of their careers. One of them died. The parallels today are ones she felt compelled to address out loud, even without easy answers.
Then a study just dropped from Northwestern Medicine that reframes the entire perimenopause and brain fog conversation, and it has nothing to do with hot flashes. If you've ever walked into a room and forgotten why you're there, this research explains something your doctor probably never mentioned.
Plus, brand new data from Fitbits and Apple Health devices reveals what's actually happening to people on GLP-1 medications that nobody is talking about yet. And a Stanford study just identified a compound that could change the muscle loss conversation entirely.
Chalene also gives you a heads up on a deeply disturbing documentary trending on Netflix right now and why she wants you to watch it before Friday.
🚨Questions Chalene Wants Your Thoughts on:
- Do you think the public conversation around Ariana Grande is helpful or harmful?
- Have you noticed changes in your motivation to exercise since starting a GLP-1?
- Should Chalene do a full deep dive on retatrutide?

What's up, buttercup? This podcast was recorded in several different locations on our journey to get to Europe, and it starts in New York and we finish in Paros, Greece. We're gonna start this episode off by talking about two women, both age 32, both incredibly talented. Both women, the public understood something was going on with their health related to their weight. One of the women died, and we're seeing some parallels today. Then I'm gonna share with you some new research that just dropped on women's brains and estrogen that is freaking tripping me out, and I think this explains a lot to do with Alzheimer's patients and everything to do with, with what happens to your brain and your memory and everything else once you hit perimenopause. We're also gonna talk about, again, some brand-new research that people are not talking about related to the behavioral changes that occur with people once they get on a GLP-1, because now we've got data from Fitbits, from Apple Health devices, et cetera, and it's very interesting. As well as a, another study looking at a peptide that helps to maintain muscle. So there's a lot to cover, and I've got an assignment for you related to a documentary that's trending right now on
