🆕 Keyword Alerts and More Trend Charts
Monitor keywords and phrases and track more sports trends
Hello!
Here's what's new on the Particle Podcast Intelligence API over the last few weeks.
Alerts can now monitor keywords and keyphrases
In addition to entity and guest appearance alerts, you can now monitor keywords and keyphrases. This is especially helpful if you are monitoring something that isn’t an entity, like a phrase (“pace the frontier”), a lesser-known startup, a product, or a drug.
Create one with kind: "KEYWORD_MENTION" and a keyword in place of entities. Use the description to say what the phrase means, so mentions of something else by the same name get filtered out. The phrase matches the way a quoted phrase does in keyword search, and only inside topic discussions and interviews.
Everything else behaves like an entity alert: previews, backfill, filters, digests, Slack, and webhooks all work the same way.
Explore Keyword AlertsTrends now cover more sports
Entity chart trends now go well beyond TV, film, and games. In sports, we now cover: nfl, nba, mlb, nhl, college-football, wnba, college-basketball, soccer, tennis, golf, formula-1, nascar, and pro-wrestling.
“All” charts are available for both sports and entertainment. Every row in the chart directory now tells you which group it belongs to (overall, entertainment, or sports) and which windows it publishes.
Find a person or company from an ID
GET /v1/entities/lookup takes an outside identifier and tells you which people and companies carry it: a LinkedIn slug, a social handle, a company domain, a stock ticker, an SEC CIK, or a Wikidata QID. Up to 100 per call. It is the reverse of the external-links endpoints.
You don’t need to tidy the input. satyanadella, in/satyanadella, and the full profile URL all resolve. We echo back exactly what you sent.
Results come back as a matches array rather than a single answer, because an identifier is not always unique to one record: two entries for the same real person can each carry the same LinkedIn profile. match_count tells you how many.
Companies also have GET /v1/companies/{id}/external-links now, listing every third-party identifier a company carries.
Smaller changes
Paste a link instead of a slug. Anywhere MCP asks for an episode or show slug, a particle.pro or Radar link works instead, including the episode links in alert emails.
Handle lookups are now case-insensitive.
platform=twitter&identifier=thepeelpodnow finds the show whose X handle isThePeelPod. Platform names are case-insensitive too, andxworks as an alias fortwitter. RSS and website lookups still match URLs exactly.Every clip carries a quote, 140 characters or fewer. Pull quotes no longer need a second call to read the clip transcript.
The running record is at docs.particle.pro/changelog and docs.particle.pro/mcp/changelog (MCP). Reach out with questions or feedback: api@particle.pro.
