Annabel Rook had been domestically abused by Clifton George, her partner of 10 years, and when finally telling him she was ending the relationship he attempted to strangle her before stabbing her to death 31 times. And the awful irony is that Annabel ran a charity helping vulnerable women and her father was a former murder trial judge - but that didn’t prevent her from escaping and falling fatal victim like so many at the hands of abusive men.     This is the story of a woman I would normally expect to see on shows such as Pride of Britain. She would be perfect for that. She dedicated her life to helping others. And for years, Annabel Roque worked with some of society's most vulnerable, including survivors of domestic abuse. Friends and colleagues described her as compassionate, determined, and deeply committed to making a difference. But in June 2025, the 46-year-old woman who had spent so much of her life protecting others became the victim of a devastating act of violence herself, strangled and stabbed 31 times by a man who then blew up their house in North London.
