Well, first off, you don't have my blessing to start this podcast, but I'm happy to be here.

[laughs] [upbeat music] Hi, I'm Hank Green. I've been making stuff on the internet for almost 30 years now, and surprisingly, I've come out of the other side of that kind of a big fan of humans. I just don't think we give ourselves enough credit. We're kind of a new thing, something, as far as we know, the universe hasn't really tried before, and so it's not that weird that we're not always great at being it. Every day I have to figure out how to be this strange, complicated, somewhat dangerous animal, and it turns out, that's hard. So I'm starting a podcast. It's called Humans, 'cause I wanna talk to people about living and about making sense of being such an odd thing.
