On this episode of the Propulsion Swimming Podcast, we sit down with the fastest-rising star in British breaststroke: Filip Nowacki.
After a phenomenal 10/10 performance at the Aquatics GB Champs and turning heads by beating his mentor Adam Peaty in the 100m at the Edinburgh International, Filip is on a rapid trajectory to the top. We dive deep into his journey, exploring how training in a small island community at Jersey Tigers SC built the work ethic he needed to thrive at Millfield.
Filip also opens up about the unique dynamic of being an AP Athlete—what it’s truly like to be mentored by Adam Peaty during the week and race against him on the weekend. Finally, we look ahead to his highly anticipated move to the Loughborough Performance Centre, representing Jersey in Glasgow, and chasing medals at the European Championships.

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of the Propulsion Swimming Podcast. We are now a few weeks off the back of Champs, and we have our first guest from Champs, and Dan, it's a big one. It's one we've been excited and looking forward to for a very long time. We're speaking to Filip Nováki, breaststroke, I don't wanna say superstar or sensation yet. Like that, I don't wanna put big words- [chuckles] ...around Filip Nováki, because we don't wanna put pressure on a young rising star in the sport. But he has a lot of eyes on him. Um, v- we are very excited to see what happens this summer, and actually we have a very, very good conversation with Filip now for someone who is so young in the sport.
Filip Nowacki· Guest0:35
Yeah. As much as we don't wanna put pressure on him, he's already kind of creating that himself because all eyes are on him already- World Junior Champion, yeah ...because World Junior Champion, uh, British Champion now obviously. Uh, so he's doing amazing things, and I think he's gonna continue to do that as the years go on and on. Part of AP. We've got loads to talk to him, basically it's almost like a story, his background, Jersey, Millfield, and then future in terms of going to Loughborough. So there's loads to talk about, um, and it was a really good conversation too.
