[News music] Here is your morning brief for Monday, June 15th. I'm Luke Vargas for the Wall Street Journal. Global stock markets are gaining and oil prices slipping on news that Iran and the US have reached a peace deal to formally end hostilities and reopen the Strait of Hormuz on Friday. Many details still need to be ironed out, however, including what happens to Iran's nuclear program. One key detail for Tehran to agree to the deal was the end of Israeli military action in Lebanon, but that is likely to become a sticking point with Israel's defense minister saying this morning that it would not withdraw from any land seized during its battle with Hezbollah forces in Lebanon. In Washington, Anthropic sent top staff to the nation's capital over the weekend in a bid to end export restrictions on its most powerful AI models. That's after the Trump administration on Friday banned foreign governments, companies, and individuals from using Anthropic's Fable Five and Mythos Five
