5/13/202651 min

What does it really take to survive at the top of the fight game for decades? Urijah Faber sits down with Sean Kelly in Las Vegas for a raw conversation about fighting, business, fatherhood, health, fear, and what it takes to build a life after the cage. From coaching Song Yadong through a razor-close fight with Sean O’Malley to building Team Alpha Male into one of the most respected fight teams in MMA, Urijah breaks down the mindset that kept him in the game longer than most fighters ever last. He talks about the early days of MMA when fights paid $200, the sport was still illegal in California, and there were no real opportunities for lighter fighters. He also shares how he built businesses while fighting, why losses never broke him, and why focusing only on what you can control is the real key to longevity. This episode also goes deep into health, longevity, fatherhood, natural medicine, testosterone, peptides, AI, entrepreneurship, bullying, and why fear has never been something Urijah lets control him. Urijah Faber proves why he’s not just a UFC Hall of Famer — he’s a fighter, founder, coach, dad, and lifelong builder. ⏱️ Chapters 0:00 Lessons From Losses 2:42 The Business Of Fighting 5:15 No Regrets In The Cage 9:04 Fighting For $200 16:19 Robots, Distilleries, And Franchises 23:35 Longevity And Blood Work 30:45 Still Competing At 46 40:28 Raising Kids Without Fear 43:00 Building A Healthy Fight Team 49:42 What’s Next For Urijah Faber 🧠 What You’ll Learn 🥊 Why Urijah Faber believes mindset is the real separator in fighting 🧠 How he learned to stop letting wins and losses control his emotions 💰 Why he started businesses just so he could afford to keep fighting 🔥 What the early MMA scene was really like before the sport exploded 🏆 How Team Alpha Male became a global fight team with UFC-level talent 👨‍👧‍👦 Why fatherhood changed Urijah’s priorities more than anything else 🧬 How he thinks about blood work, longevity, testosterone, and natural health 🤼 Why wrestling still does not get the respect it deserves ⚡ Why fear never controlled him — in fighting, business, or parenting 🚀 How Urijah is still building new businesses after his fight career 🎙️ APPLY OR CONNECT 👉 Interested in being a guest? Some of the losses ever get to you mentally? Were they hard to bounce back from some of them?

  2. Urijah Faber· Guest0:03

Looking back at it, I was just like, "You know what? I'm only gonna worry about the things that I can control. I'm only gonna let the things that I can control affect me." So I've always had a pretty good head when it came to just leaving the experience and taking the lesson. Fear is not something I'm... I can give you. It's about anything that's scary. Doesn't scare me.

  3. Sean Kelly· Host0:20

All right, guys. Yair Aura here, AKA The California Kid. Let's go. Back in Vegas, your second home, right?

  4. Urijah Faber· Guest0:31

Yeah. I've been here a lot lately.

  5. Sean Kelly· Host0:33

    Yeah.

  6. Urijah Faber· Guest0:33

Just out here for the Song-O'Malley fight, and I mean, this is like killers' row of fight events- Yep ... in Vegas this next couple months, so.

  7. Sean Kelly· Host0:41

Yeah, great fight, by the way.

  8. Urijah Faber· Guest0:42

    Yeah.

  9. Sean Kelly· Host0:42

Well done. Um, I didn't even know you were his coach, honestly.

  10. Urijah Faber· Guest0:45

    Yeah.

  11. Sean Kelly· Host0:45

I'm so new to the sport, but I saw you there, and great fight.

  12. Urijah Faber· Guest0:48

Yeah, yeah. A lot of people thought he won, and, um, obviously O'Malley's a beast, and he, he did a great job as well. It was too close for comfort, but I thought we got the W.

  13. Sean Kelly· Host0:58

    Yeah.

  14. Urijah Faber· Guest0:58

It- I feel like when you're the fan favorite, you have to win, uh, against those types of people more than normal, right? Yeah. Unfortunately, Song's a fan favorite in China. He's massive in China, same as O'Malley is here.

  15. Sean Kelly· Host1:09

    Mm.

  16. Urijah Faber· Guest1:09

Uh, and we were happen to be in, uh, you know, uh, an O'Malley favored arena, and I mean, it was a close fight.

  17. Sean Kelly· Host1:17

    Yeah.

  18. Urijah Faber· Guest1:17

You know? And especially the, the, the later, later rounds, you know, O'Malley turned it on, and so, you know, it is what it is. We're happy for the... You take the lesson, leave the experience, we say.

  19. Sean Kelly· Host1:28

    Absolutely.

  20. Urijah Faber· Guest1:28

    Yeah.

  21. Sean Kelly· Host1:28

How many fighters you got on,
