[upbeat music] Welcome to Kenny Blitz, your daily hit of NRL news. The Origin postmortem, mate. Um, Queensland, 44-24. New South Wales led 12-8 at the break.
Paul Kent· Host0:14
Yeah.
Warren Smith· Host0:14
Three tries in the first 15 minutes of the second half to Queensland. What went wrong?
Paul Kent· Host0:18
Well, it wasn't only three tries in the first 15 minutes, it was 36 points in 40 minutes.
Warren Smith· Host0:22
Mm.
Paul Kent· Host0:22
So there's a ... Uh, mate, to be fair, there's no single answer what went wrong, is there? I, I, I, I'm, I'm struggling to put it all together. New South Wales played so well in that first half. Queensland played, I think, equally as well. You could argue Queensland probably played better because they lost Tino through HIA, they lost Munster through HIA, two really vital players. Tino, you could argue, might have been looking for a break shortly after anyway.
Warren Smith· Host0:49
Mm.
Paul Kent· Host0:49
But certainly- He, he did cop a clip.
Warren Smith· Host0:50
I think it was a tackle on- Oh, yeah, yeah ... Payne Haas, but I agree with you. I, it came at a fortunate time.
Paul Kent· Host0:55
Yeah, it did. And, and it got him off the field. You know, he probably would've only stayed on for three or four, maybe more sets. But they certainly didn't need to lose Munster.
Warren Smith· Host1:03
Mm.
Paul Kent· Host1:03
And, and New South Wales were just completely underwhelming. Like, underwhelming. Like I, I just don't know how they pick up the pieces after this. It's gonna take some almighty coaching from that coaching staff, not just Laurie, but all the assistants, and even the players themselves when they get into the game, uh, get into camp again, to try and understand what happened and then be able to fix what happened.
