Said some scientists that have known what no one else did.

  4. Chuck Nice· Host0:08

    Yeah.

  5. Neil deGrasse Tyson· Host0:08

    Uh.

  6. Chuck Nice· Host0:08

After they were prosecuted, tortured, and killed.

  7. Neil deGrasse Tyson· Host0:11

    Yes. [laughs] Coming right up.

  8. Speaker 30:13

Welcome to Star Talk, your place in the universe where science and pop culture collide. Star Talk begins right now.

  9. Neil deGrasse Tyson· Host0:26

[upbeat music] This is Star Talk Special Edition. When you hear Special Edition, it means Gary O'Reilly is in the house.

  10. Gary O'Reilly· Host0:35

    Hey, Neil.

  11. Neil deGrasse Tyson· Host0:36

    Gary.

  12. Gary O'Reilly· Host0:37

    Mm-hmm.

  13. Neil deGrasse Tyson· Host0:37

    Former soccer pro.

  14. Gary O'Reilly· Host0:38

    Allegedly.

  15. Neil deGrasse Tyson· Host0:38

That's not... We're not alleging that. [laughs] There's, there's a Wiki page of you- All right ... in a soccer outfit.

  21. Neil deGrasse Tyson· Host0:52

[laughs] So comedian, actor, and the lord of nice. [laughs] There it is. All right. So Gary, what show did you put together today? Hmm.

  22. Gary O'Reilly· Host1:01

Uh, interesting one. If you think for centuries, science has at times aligned with and fought against religion- Oh ... government, establishment, and even itself. But when the sticky-up nail confronts historic theories and shouts change, it gets hammered.

  23. Neil deGrasse Tyson· Host1:19

    Mm.

  24. Gary O'Reilly· Host1:19

So who were these history's confrontationists, the groundbreakers of science and medicine, the ones whom we owe so much? All right. With that said,
