Okay, welcome back to Gary's Economics. Today, we are going to explain the only way to stop the far right from taking power in your country. [instrumental music] Okay, I'm filming this on Tuesday the 12th of May. This will go out on Sunday the 17th of May. Uh, we have had, in the last week, local elections up and down the UK. The Labour Party, our governing party, got smashed. Uh, they lost an enormous amount of seats. Uh, a big chunk, uh, on their left of the greens, but a much bigger chunk on their right to Reform, our far-right party. It was a bit of a disaster for Labour. Um, as I'm filming this, Keir Starmer is fighting for his life. He, he, he could be out e- even by the time this video goes out, or he could have resigned. Um, I suspect he will probably last at least a few more months. [laughs] We'll see if I'm eating my words by Sunday. But this is causing a lot of panic because people are starting to realize the fact, which, to be honest, has, has been pretty predictable for a couple of months, and something which I predicted even a couple of years ago, even before Labour came in, that the far right are broadly the most popular party in this country, and if nothing changes, they are going to win the next election. And that is not anything which is at all unique to the UK. This is happening all across the world. Um, you know, I was in France last week. You know, it's happening in Germany. They're already in power in the US. They're already in power in Italy. So today, I'm going to explain to you very simply, uh, how to stop the far
