[upbeat music] Andrew and I finished yesterday's podcast talking about the downing of a US military helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, and Anna, we're picking right up from there. US President Donald Trump was quick to point the finger at Iran, and the two sides have been launching strikes on each other in the days since.

    Those two chopper pilots survived. Reports say an uncrewed drone boat was used for the first time to retrieve them, but now America has responded. We've heard from President Trump this morning. He says, "We hit Iran hard yesterday, and we're going to hit them hard again today." US military central command says it targeted Iranian military spots near the Strait of Hormuz, including air defense, ground control, and radar sites.

    Iran says it didn't deliberately target the helicopter, and it's since retaliated itself with drone attacks on a US naval fleet in nearby Bahrain. Reports say it also launched missiles at a US air base in Jordan, and Kuwait's military says that it's intercepted hostile aerial targets. That's what it called them.
