About Us
Pale Blue Pod is an astronomy podcast for people who are overwhelmed by the universe but want to be its friend. Astrophysicist Dr. Moiya McTier and her best friend ConStar demystify space one topic at a time with open eyes, open arms, and open mouths (from so much laughing and jaw-dropping). By the end of each episode, the cosmos will feel a little less “ahhh too scary” and a lot more “ohhh, so cool!” New episodes every Monday.
Pale Blue Pod is a member of the Multitude Collective.

[upbeat music] Welcome to Pale Blue Pod, the astronomy podcast for people who are overwhelmed by the universe but wanna be its friend.
Moiya McTier· Host0:29
Yeah, that's what this is. Hi, everyone. I'm Dr. Moya McTier, an astrophysicist and a folklorist, and a friend to the universe, and also my co-host.
Connie Gibbs· Host0:37
That's me. I'm Connie. I am friend to Moya, friend to the universe.
Moiya McTier· Host0:41
Mm-hmm.
Connie Gibbs· Host0:41
I'm, I'm ready. I'm ready to say I am a friend to the universe. I've really learned a lot about her in these last, uh, several months. So I'm a friend to the universe, and I am a friend to curiosity, and I love that you bring that, uh, the answers to me.
Moiya McTier· Host0:55
Well, thank you. Thank you. [laughs] Do you feel like you and the universe are close enough yet that the universe could just come over to your house unannounced and hang out for an afternoon?
Connie Gibbs· Host1:04
[laughs] No, and I say that because- Okay ... I live in Florida, and so there will be times when the universe will probably come knocking in the form of a hurricane, so let's not. [laughs] Let's, you know- Let's not ... keep our boundaries, uh, for the time being until I've relocated.
Moiya McTier· Host1:21
[laughs] Okay. Okay, yeah. When, m- maybe one day you'll be, uh, closer or in a situation where your friend can just pop over.
Connie Gibbs· Host1:28
Exactly.
