The Truth About Peptides: From Ozempic To The Wolverine Stack
5/28/202630 min
Spencer and Oli unpack the fast-growing world of peptides — from Ozempic, Mounjaro and Retatrutide to the so-called “Wolverine Stack.” They explain what peptides actually are, why they’re becoming so popular, who they may genuinely help, and the risks of chasing performance, weight loss or longevity shortcuts too quickly. An honest look at one of the biggest health trends in the world right now.

[upbeat music] Hello, and welcome to Untapped: The Extra Mile with me, Spencer Matthews.
Oli Patrick· Host0:08
And me, Ollie Patrick.
Spencer Matthews· Host0:10
[sighs] It'll never get old. I just ... I, I do. I, I love you. [laughs] I do. I love you. I just think you're great.
Oli Patrick· Host0:16
It's a mutual love.
Spencer Matthews· Host0:17
Thank you. [laughs] This week we're gonna be discussing peptides.
Oli Patrick· Host0:23
Oh.
Spencer Matthews· Host0:24
You've heard about them, I'm sure. Most people have. They're kind of everywhere but nowhere, you know? They're- they kind of fly under the radar, yet they're very present, uh, across the board. What are they? And let's discuss them.
Oli Patrick· Host0:40
It's a- that's actually a brilliant description. They're sort of everywhere and nowhere.
Spencer Matthews· Host0:44
Mm.
Oli Patrick· Host0:44
Because they're in every conversation to do with health, but no one really knows what the hell they are. And those involved in health and medicine have no idea if they [laughs] if they work. And we've got to separate peptides, peptides. What on earth are we talking about? We're talking about short chain amino acids, and already people are like, "What?" You know, "What's that?" But of course, protein is made up of these building blocks, amino acids.
Spencer Matthews· Host1:06
Of course.
Oli Patrick· Host1:06
And protein is longer chains of amino acids. Peptides are shorter chains of amino acids. So where there might be 2 to 50 amino acids bound together, that would be called a peptide. If it gets much longer than that, becomes a really complicated structure, that'd be called a protein. All of that is relatively uninteresting unless you're in sort of molecular biology. [laughs] But it sort of ... It's confusing, right?
