The Truth about Adam & Eve

What really went down in the Garden of Eden? Was there an apple? Was there a snake? Was the 'original sin' all that bad?
To answer these questions and more, Kate is joined by Dr Dylan Johnson, biblical scholar and historian of the Ancient Near East at Cardiff University. His most recent publication is 'Lawgiving in the ancient Near East'.

Welcome back once again to Betwixt the Sheets. Hello, how fabulous to see you. How have you been? All right? Well, that's very good to hear. I'm all right as well. But before we go any further, I do have to tell you, this is an adult podcast, and it's spoken by adults to other adults about adulty things in an adulty way, covering a range of subjects, and you should be an adult too. Right. Let's crack on with it. [birds chirping] Oh, it's so peaceful here in the Garden of Eden. It really is. The water features are just fab. And what could be better than wandering around eating fruit and not having to worry if we get juice on ourselves, because that's right, everybody, well, me and the two other humans, are naked. Everything is perfect, utopian even, and there really is only one rule, and it would be a real shame if somebody were to break it.
