4/22/202628 min

From a gigantic arch set to mark the 250th anniversary of the United States, to the deployment of National Guard troops, to the construction of a massive White House ballroom, the face of America’s capital city is changing during Donald Trump’s second term as U.S. president.

  6. Katie Simpson· Host0:46

Well, I was coming from Ottawa, so I want you guys to picture this. I moved from Ottawa in December- [laughs] ... to Washington, DC, in January, but I left an Ottawa winter, and it's not even the worst part of winter in Ottawa in, in J- in December, and moved down here in January, and then experienced a very delightful, warm Washington winter. So- I think it's the way you say Ottawa winter. Oh, it just- [laughs] It brings me back. I can't do it. But really, what really stood out to me is, you know, what an incredible city it is because, A, partly the weather is fantastic, and B, it's so walkable. You're outside. There's so much to do. That really is what stood out to me.
