Who was Malkie? She was a very sweet girl. She had a learning disability. She was bothered by it. She was struggling, she was behind, she was always taken out of class. The teacher told her in second grade that you belong in first grade. By the time we saw things, it was when she didn't have a high school.

The first day of high school for everybody else, she still didn't have a place.

She applied here and there, she just couldn't make it in. One day, finally, somebody made an effort. I went there, interview, we bought uniform, and Baruch Hashem, she had a high school. The next day, literally, the principal called, said that she can't stay. By the time I came home, she was already home.

Middle of the day, they just sent her home.

She was on the floor, must have been crying for I don't know how long. Her books, bags were all over the place. Somebody made a new school, and they were very interested in being helpful. She got in, and things looked pretty much okay. One day, she was very upset that everything is so difficult for her. She was standing in the kitchen. She was like, "Whatever other people do in seconds takes me so long." On Erev Yom Kippur, everything crashed. She left school. She's not going back. She's not interested. She started expressing her anger at the system. That brokenness, that anger never went away, and from there, things just spiraled totally out of control with drugs, substance, whatever. I'm like, "You know, this thing can kill you." And she said to me, "I don't have a problem dying. I have a problem living."
