The Most Honest Dating Questionnaire We've Ever Seen
4/24/202652 min
It took the deliciously unhinged creative genius of Miranda July to invent a dating questionnaire that asks the questions no one else is brave enough to ask. Forget your height or if you like 'long walks on the beach'; Em is looking at the prompts that actually reveal your soul, like a photo of your bookshelves, your messy bed, or a screenshot of your ex describing you via text. So, what would you ask, to really get to know someone? And is the secret to finding love just showing someone the inside of your fridge?
There’s a name for that 'meh' feeling you have after a day at work: Office air. Thanks to a smart TikTok creator, Clare has finally figured out why we all look like 'sick Victorian children' by the time the clock strikes five.
Meanwhile, Nicole Kidman is currently on a promo circuit, but she isn't talking about her latest film. Instead, she’s opening up about her desire to become a death doula after the devastating loss of her mother. So Holly’s asking: What is a death doula? Why don’t work and caring and basically, life, stop for you to deal with losing a loved one? And how do we get better at understanding that the loss of a parent - even at an age deemed ‘appropriate’ - is often completely unmooring.
And finally, according to Vogue, nobody’s getting their nails done any more.

Em Vernam· Co-host0:15
Hamish and Andy are back, but the world is just turning.
Claire Stephens· Co-host0:17
Up your game.
Em Vernam· Co-host0:18

Holly Wainwright· Host0:19
Yeah.
Claire Stephens· Co-host0:20

Em Vernam· Co-host0:20
It's just where we hang out these days. You might have- we've probably bored you with it, but Em hasn't been on the show since- No ... we've been number one again ...
Claire Stephens· Co-host0:26
I am very, very excited. I mean, it is our 30 episodes versus their four, but- [laughs] [laughs] Sure.
Em Vernam· Co-host0:30
No one's counting. Who's counting?
Claire Stephens· Co-host0:32
Not me.
Holly Wainwright· Host0:32
[laughs] It's listeners, not episodes.
Claire Stephens· Co-host0:34
Got it, got it, got it.
Em Vernam· Co-host0:36
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Claire Stephens· Co-host0:36
So we're winning.
Holly Wainwright· Host0:37

Holly Wainwright· Host0:44
Claire Stephens, there's something you need to bring to the group.
Claire Stephens· Co-host0:46
Uh, there is. Guys, I'm in my flop era. [laughs] And I just... I have kept- You look great for being in your flop era ... thank you so much, Em. That actually means a lot. [laughs] Um, someone the other day was like, "You don't even look that pregnant." I was like, "I really needed to hear that."
Em Vernam· Co-host1:01
[laughs] How pregnant are we now?
Claire Stephens· Co-host1:03
I'm 28 weeks.
Em Vernam· Co-host1:04

And, yeah, 28 weeks today.
Holly Wainwright· Host1:07

At least another 10.
Holly Wainwright· Host1:11
Yeah.
Claire Stephens· Co-host1:11
Yeah. At least another 10- You're, like, three-quarters of the way through. Yeah, yeah. Which- Okay ... which, here's a question- Three quarters, two thirds. Yeah, you do, you do the maths about trimesters.
Holly Wainwright· Host1:21
Yeah.
Claire Stephens· Co-host1:21
Doesn't make sense.
Holly Wainwright· Host1:22
It doesn't make sense.
Claire Stephens· Co-host1:23
Doesn't add up. I was explaining this to my partner the other day. It's like our first trimester's 12 weeks. Okay, well maybe, so then second trimester
