In this episode, Bryce and Alec sit down with Balmain’s Henry Holm to unpack the private credit boom in Australia, why banks have stepped back, how non-bank lenders create value, and what investors should look for before backing a manager.

Alec Renehan· Host0:30
I'm very good, Bryce. Very excited for this episode. I think, you know, over our time doing Equity Mates, we're, what, notching up nine years now.

Some asset classes have gotten bigger, others have gotten smaller. But for me, there's really only one that has emerged in, in my mind from, from nothing over the past nine years, uh, and that is private credit. But as we prepared for this interview today and, and, um, we looked up the guest who we're, we're about to introduce, uh, it became clear that, you know, private credit, um, non-bank lending, whatever you wanna call it, has been in operation in Australia and around the world for a lot longer than that. And so as private credit captures the headlines these days, we wanted to speak to an expert to help us understand more about what's going on in the space and, um, how we should understand all the different asset- uh, aspects of it. So, uh, would love to introduce Henry Holm to the studio. Henry, welcome.
Henry Holm· Guest1:22
