And the topic that I want to talk about now is patience and perseverance, trials and immense tests that come our way. And the story that I want to begin with in the story of Hajj is the great sacrifice and trial which Allah put Prophet Ibrahim, the father, through and the ordering to slaughter and sacrifice his own son, Prophet Ismail, which is one of the more popular narrations. It could have been Prophet Ismail likely, and to a lesser extent, some scholars say it could have been Ishaq. Either way, it was his son. Allah says in the Quran, وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَنفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ
