    [tense music] The lava crept closer to the boy's shoes. Amar wanted to yell, to tell him to move, to run, do anything. But the boy just stood there, hands in his pockets, like he was waiting for a bus or something. "Hey," Amar shouted. "It's gonna get you. Move." The boy looked down at the bubbling orange liquid creeping towards his feet, and then he looked back up with a little smile. "No, it's not," he said. And just as the lava was about to touch his shoe, it stopped. It wiggled, it hissed, but it didn't come any closer. Raina's mouth dropped open. "How did you do that?" "I didn't do anything," the boy said. "It's the playground. It only listens when you tell it what game to play." "What?" said Amar.
