    [pensive music] This is where it gets very intriguing. He does fit the picture painted of the man seen taking the two little girls from the Adelaide Oval in 1973. There's an element of the Snowtown thing in this, meaning I'm interested in the fact that Mark Marshall is claiming that bodies were put in barrels and hidden. It would be intriguing to know why his army record has that black mark in it. I'm Andrew Rule. This is Life & Crimes. Earlier this year, we spoke to an Adelaide author, Michael Madigan, who's written an interesting book about some very serious cases over there, and we mentioned almost in passing the existence of an unsolved case in Adelaide, and there are many of them. But this one was the enduring mystery of what happened to two girls, Joanne Ratcliffe, who was 11, and Kirste Gordon, who was four. They were abducted from the Adelaide Oval at a football finals match, August 25th, 1973. Intriguingly, there were quite good witness accounts, at least one, but more than one, witness accounts of the man seen struggling with these two girls.
