The Craziest Guy on Tour

4/20/20261 hr 14 min

You might think that the week after The Masters would be quiet by comparison, but the wonderful world of golf just keeps on giving. Andrew, Iain and Eddie convene to talk about Matt Fitzpatrick taking down Scottie Scheffler at Hilton Head, and wonder where the Sheffield man stands in the pantheon of English golfers. There is also a good deal of LIV discussion with the future of the tour uncertain, questioning of driving distance stats, a look ahed to the women's major season and most importantly, we discover which golfer is considered the craziest on tour.

[beeping] It's time now for the Chipping Forecast in association with Peter Millar, brought to you by Andrew Cotter, Eddie Pepperell, and special guest Ian Carter.

  2. Andrew Cotter· Host0:15

[upbeat music] Hello, everyone. Welcome to the Chipping Forecast once again, where we are reunited in, um, good old Blighty, Albion, um, United Kingdom. Eddie's not in China, though. A few people were asking, "Is Eddie on his way to China?" No, he's, he's not. He and Benjamin Follett-Smith are sipping consolation wine together for just missing out. Or maybe a celebration wine. I don't know, Eddie. But you came close to getting in, and you said you were going to give it till Saturday and then make the decision?

  3. Eddie Pepperell· Host0:55

Yeah, I actually gave it until this morning in the end because, um, there was a midday flight I could have gotten today, which would have got me there Tuesday morning, which I think push come to shove I may have done. Um, but no, it's still second reserve, so I withdrew a couple of hours ago, and I shall spend the week in the UK, which actually looking at the weather forecast and with things planned, which I know we will touch on- Mm. Uh, I'm quite looking forward to.

  4. Andrew Cotter· Host1:17

Does this suggest that, uh, your training regime has been going really well, so you were very keen to get out there? That's Ian Carter, our regular special guest.

  5. Eddie Pepperell· Host1:24

You're not wrong. I played a couple of times last week, and I played quite well.

  6. Andrew Cotter· Host1:29

    Mm.

  7. Eddie Pepperell· Host1:29

    So,
