The BIG EFL Playoff Final preview
5/23/202629 min
The biggest weekend in the EFL calendar is here, and Wembley is calling—we’re previewing a massive triple-header of playoff finals on today’s talkSPORT Daily podcast!
Angelina Kelly is joined by talkSPORT EFL expert and former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke to look ahead to a dramatic bank holiday weekend under the arch. We start with the Championship and the fallout from the "Spygate" scandal that has rocked the division. We discuss Southampton’s sensational expulsion and how Middlesbrough have been handed a second life to face Hull City in the most lucrative game in football. Can Kim Hellberg's men take advantage or will the Tigers roar back into the Premier League?
We also dive into the League One final, where Stockport County are looking to complete a fairy-tale rise as they take on Bolton Wanderers. We talk about the incredible story of the Hatters' top scorer, Kyle Wootton, who has remarkably sacrificed his Golden Boot hunt to play at centre-back during an injury crisis—could his defensive heroics be the key to promotion?
PLUS, we look ahead to Monday’s League Two showdown as the "Class of 92" head to Wembley. We ask if Salford City can finally bridge the gap to the third tier, or if Notts County will spoil the party in what promises to be a classic encounter.
From courtroom drama to tactical masterclasses, there’s SO much to discuss in the latest episode of the talkSPORT Daily podcast!
