Now, has anybody ever slandered you for the sake of Jesus? Has anyone ever falsely accused you for the sake of Jesus? If you have experienced that, you know how painful that can be. Our reputations are precious to us, and it's very difficult to endure it when we are accused of things that we have not done or of saying things that we have not said. That's painful. And so how in any way can that be an occasion for blessedness? Notice what Jesus says, that when that happens, you're supposed to rejoice and be exceedingly glad.
