5/6/202642 min

In this episode of the GaryVee Audio Experience, I talk about the biggest shift in the history of marketing: Live Commerce. I encourage you to put in your 20 hours of homework: 10 hours of research and 10 hours of practice to start selling on platforms like TikTok Shop and Whatnot. I also discuss why corporate inertia is holding back the world's biggest brands and why human connection is the only moat in an AI-driven world.

You’ll learn about:

  • The shift from Traditional E-Commerce to Communal Commerce
  • Why the "Gift of Gab" is the most valuable skill in 2026
  • How to build a brand through relevance rather than boardroom ideology
  • The 20-hour framework for mastering new platforms
  • What we can learn from the $700 billion live shopping market in China

One of the great things about social selling is when you watch QVC, somebody's selling to you. When you buy on TikTok or whatnot, or some other platform, there's a community watching together, and you're entertaining each other.

  2. Julian Reis· Guest0:12

    Yeah.

  3. Gary Vaynerchuk· Host0:12

I mean, it's... That, that, that level of communal commerce- That's right ... is profound. And, you know, when I'm live, 'cause I'm a host as well, when I'm answering someone's customer service question live, well, that also is affecting all the other people that are watching, and then they be- I mean, people become friends- Yeah ... in these rooms. People that go to a consistent show and are both watching me, they become friends with each other. And I mean, that is a beautiful... I mean- It is ... even in real life, a retail store, which I think will continue to have value, 'cause the whole analog explosion when digital continues to go extreme with AI is real, but most people aren't becoming wildly friendly with the other people in the shoe store. You might say, "Nice shoes." You might get into a convo. People have met that way.

  4. Julian Reis· Guest0:58

    Yeah.

  5. Gary Vaynerchuk· Host0:59

People have gotten married that way. I get it, but it's not common. Whereas on a live shopping show- Yeah ... everyone's interacting with everyone. This is the Gary Vee Audio Experience.

  6. Julian Reis· Guest1:09

  7. Gary Vaynerchuk· Host1:22

    Yes.

  8. Julian Reis· Guest1:22

And, and I think it's, today's a really special day for us. One, being, getting you here as an investor into Superordinary.

  9. Gary Vaynerchuk· Host1:28

    Yes. I'm very humbled.
