That USA Episode: Brad Friedel on THAT 4-1 USA thrashing & the lads take a SCARY flight! | EP. 407
6/16/20261 hr 22 min
Pete, Tom and Sids are back in Los Angeles for another World Cup edition of That Peter Crouch Podcast — and they've got a very special guest. Premier League and Champions League legend Brad Friedel joins the lads fresh from the Bahamas to share incredible stories from his playing days, including an absolutely wild night at Galatasaray with Graham Souness that you simply won't believe!
Brad opens up about his record-breaking consecutive appearances in the Premier League, his time at Aston Villa and Tottenham, his role as Sporting Director in Turkey, and what he's up to now — including living in the Bahamas and working in data analytics.
The boys also react to Brazil vs Morocco, debating whether the Seleção are being overhyped and whether Morocco could genuinely go all the way. Plus Pete raises the important question of whether the VAR team standing to attention for the national anthem is commitment or just commitment to a bit.
Then it's over to the Paddy Power Predictor as Pete, Tom and Sids make their calls for England vs Croatia — with Sids sitting pretty at the top of the leaderboard. Oh, and Graeme Souness is revealed to be the world's most unlikely vegan. You won't see that one coming.
Leave your England vs Croatia predictions in the comments below and let us know who you think lifts the trophy.

Hello, and welcome to the That Pete Crouch Podcast with me, Pete Crouch. I've got Tom 'The Foreskin' Fordyce with me. [laughs] And, uh, [laughs] Sid as well. And obviously Chris is, uh, back at the Chumba Wamba doing various bits of, of work for us.
Tom Fordyce· Host0:11
Yeah, yeah.
Peter Crouch· Host0:12
How are we, boys? We enjoying our American experience?
Tom Fordyce· Host0:14
We've been having some good times here, haven't we?
Steve Sidwell· Host0:16
Loving it. We're loving it, lads.
Tom Fordyce· Host0:17
Um- Eh? We've been getting into the games, haven't we? We've also, because the way that our three brains work, we've been doing some, some real deep dives, haven't we, in some dark corners of the football world. There was a point the other night where... How many restaurants do you reckon there are in LA? Must be a couple of thousand restaurants.
Peter Crouch· Host0:33
Yeah.
Steve Sidwell· Host0:34
Yes.
Tom Fordyce· Host0:34
Probably each of those would have at least hun- well, I don't know, 10, 20 tables.
Peter Crouch· Host0:38
Mm-hmm.
Tom Fordyce· Host0:38
So probably 10,000 tables- Yeah ... um, where people were eating food in Los Angeles the other night, and our table was the only one where we were doing a deep dive on the career of Neil Redfearn.
Peter Crouch· Host0:49
[laughs] [laughs] Amazing stat. He got three... He got relegated by three dif- three different clubs- Mm ... in three different seasons.
Steve Sidwell· Host0:56
Yeah.
Peter Crouch· Host0:56
Naming the clubs proved difficult- Yeah ... but, but not ungettable, which we found.
Tom Fordyce· Host1:01
We got there, didn't we?
Peter Crouch· Host1:02
Yeah.
Tom Fordyce· Host1:03
Um, Sid, how you getting on? You enjoying it?
Steve Sidwell· Host1:04
Yeah, I've just got to say that I am in a, uh, a, a pair of trousers. Um, I would be in a pair of shorts. We've obviously done something this morning. I don't think we can discuss what it is yet. It will come out at a later time, but, um, I am sweating.
Peter Crouch· Host1:17
Are you?
Steve Sidwell· Host1:18
Yeah, I'm sweating. Yeah, yeah, I'm just gonna throw that one straight out there. But, uh- Well, I'll be honest with you, this is, this is hotter than the Chumba Wumba- Yes ...
Peter Crouch· Host1:23
on a summer's day.
Steve Sidwell· Host1:24
It is. It is.
Peter Crouch· Host1:24
[laughs] And that is fucking hot.
Steve Sidwell· Host1:26
Yeah. Yeah. But, um, listen, lads, we've had a great time so far. I mean, what we've done, we've
