Live from SoHo House Austin during SXSW, this conversation with filmmaker and author Turk Pipkin explores the wild through a deeply human lens. From the vibrant ecosystems of flamingos to the extraordinary migration of monarch butterflies and the powerful presence of mountain gorillas, Turk shares stories from behind the camera and across the globe.

Our first live recording. Now let me repeat that. Our very first live recording. Now how cool is this? It's South by Southwest time here in Austin, Texas. Now if you haven't heard about it, tens of thousands of people descend on Austin for tech, film, and music events. And this year, we got to participate at the magnificent Soho House. In today's episode, Turk Pipkin joins me. Now you may know him from The Sopranos, The Leftovers, his multitudes of books that he's penned, his nonprofit, The Nobility Project, or the many films he's made, and many of them are about animals. Now we talk flamingos, the battle won to save them, what a flamboyance is [laughs]. Now you're just gonna have to wait to find out. We talk monarchs, their 3,000-mile migration, and so much more. Now here's a funny. What does a butterfly do at a party? Any ideas? Well, just flutters around. I had to. Anyways, we also talk about gorillas, lots about gorillas. And for the first time ever live episode having Turk there, it was such a treat. So get ready. The list of things we talk about is long, almost as tall as Turk. And let me tell you, he's really tall. Get ready for a good one.
