Speaking Truth to Power with Love
4/30/202654 min
On the appearance day of the fascinating Avatar Narasimha — the ferocious half-man, half-lion form of Krishna — Raghunath and Kaustubha explore the life and teachings of his most celebrated devotee, Sri Prahlad, the child saint who spoke truth to power without apology, yet never bore animosity toward the person trying to destroy him. His core teaching, drawn from the Srimad Bhagavatam, is more relevant than ever: except for the uncontrolled and misguided mind, there is no enemy in this world. That's not passivity. That's spiritual vision.

So here he is, his first prayer for his father. Out of all people, you're gonna pray for him?
Kaustubha Das· Host0:04
Yeah. Uh, g- yeah. Give, give whatever benediction you could've given me, give to him. Y- you know, and, and we see it, it's not that he was, um, docile or, or, you know, apathetic. He was speaking truth to power. He spoke very clearly, but he did it with love. He said, "My dear father, you know, we don't have any enemy. The only enemy is this, is this, um, misguided mind of ours."
Raghunath· Host0:31
Mm.
Kaustubha Das· Host0:31
You know? You, you're asking me to see enemies. I can't see any enemies. Father, what you should do, you should give up all your whole demonic mentality, and you should worship Lord Vishnu.
Raghunath· Host0:42
Yeah.
Kaustubha Das· Host0:42
This is what, [laughs] you know, he- Yeah ... he, he was bold. He spoke truth to power, but he never possessed hatred, even to- toward that one that was, um, in so many ways trying to cause him the worst kind of harm.
