All right, here's our, our good friend Jonas Siegel from The Athletic joining us here on the Maple Toronto hotline. Jonas, you were involved in the, uh, what do you call that? Like, a co-Zoom today, I guess it was, with the GM John Chayka- [laughs] ... and the new hire, Jim Hiller. Um, give us your, your initial thoughts and reaction when you heard that, uh, Hiller got the job.

So I was surprised, like you guys probably were, just because all the names, like the 55, 60, 75, 100 names, he never came up. I don't actually know why. Because of the connection to Toronto, he had been a head coach, obviously, the past few years. I actually don't mind the move. I kinda like the move. Uh, I know he's not, like, the, the sexiest choice. I still think Bruce Cassidy was the best choice. I, I, I'm not quite clear if they actually tried to talk to him, if they could talk to him. But I think, like, you look at Hiller's track record in LA, it's not long, but they were a really good defensive team. And you look at the Leafs last year, that was their big issue. And, and even the year before that, uh, they weren't good defensively. And if he can bring some of what he had in LA to Toronto, I like the idea of, of Jim Hiller, especially compared with some of the other candidates, uh, that we heard were being tossed around.
