Full episodes of the Secret Podcast are available to paid members of the Bulwark on Substack, YouTube, and Apple Podcasts.

JVL and Sarah Longwell discuss the signs that voters are starting to regret their Trump vote—and why that doesn’t mean politics is getting any simpler. Gas prices are rising, a gerrymandering arms race is raging and the Supreme Court reshaped the rules. Plus: the Maine race, the rise of populist candidates like Platner, and what The Bulwark actually stands for.

Hello, everyone. This is JVL here with my best friend, Sarah Longwell of the Bulwark. We are doing- You- ... another early... What? What's wrong? Sorry.

  10. Sarah Longwell· Host0:53

We are doing another early one. It's early. I'm sorry my voice sounds like this. Do you know on TNL you called me and Tim your colleagues?

  11. JVL· Host0:59

I did. I, I, I... You, I... After the fact, when you said you called, 'cause we were in the green room afterwards, you said, "You called them colleagues." And I said, "No, I didn't." I went back and watched the open, and I did. I don't know what- People caught it, man, and they were like, "What?" I was all hopped up on- "What are they fighting about?" I was all hopped up on Robitussin and DayQuil just to get through the show. It affected... I, literally, I was just autopiloting through that show. I don't know if people picked up on that.
