Script Supervisor: Continuity in The Crown

6/17/202629 min

Movies take a long time to film, and that means they are rarely shot in chronological order - but the end result has to look seamless. Script supervisor Alana Marmion-Warr spills the beans on how a film stays consistent, and shares stories of working on Wonka, The Crown and Ready Player One. This is Out of Frame, where we celebrate and explore the work of below the line roles in film and TV. Out of Frame is produced by Platform Media for CrewHQ at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden. Hello, I'm Yinka Bikini and welcome back to Out of Frame. We are back with a brand new series and this is the place to get a behind-the-scenes look into the film and TV world like you have never seen before. I'll be speaking to insiders from across the industry that know exactly what it takes to bring your favourite movies to life and I'm doing it all inside Crew HQ, a training centre based at the heart of Warner Bros Studios' Leavesden. Each week, you'll hear from a different member of the Below the Line team. Below the Line roles are the crew who bring the magic to your screens. That's makeup artists, set designers, camera operators, and so much more. So strap in, get yourself some popcorn, because this is Out of Frame. A good movie has the power to transport you somewhere else with new characters and worlds to explore. And all of this starts with a good script. And making sure that a script is successfully captured on screen isn't easy. But that's where someone like Alana Marmion-Wall comes in. Alana is a script supervisor and it's her job to ensure that everything that is in a script actually gets filmed. But she can do a better job of explaining her work than I can. Alana, welcome to Out of Frame. Thank you. How are you? I'm good, how are you? I'm very well, thank you. And also, can I just say thank you for dressing up because this is a very nice shirt. Thanks very much.
