Tensions rose after an American Apache helicopter was downed in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday evening. President Trump blamed Iran, and after the incident, the US launched strikes against Iranian air defenses and radar, among other sites near the strait. Iranian officials told the Wall Street Journal that the helicopter was not deliberately targeted.
