[instrumental music] Experiencing the death of a friend or family member is never easy. No matter how old they were, no matter how expected or unexpected it was, it doesn't stop the pain we feel. When our important people leave us, they transition from flesh and blood into memories, and it's through those memories that they live on for the rest of our lives. And in fact, they can still teach us lessons. In this episode, I meet with people who've experienced the death of a loved one to understand how that death affected them and how they're honoring the ones they've lost. Every stranger has a story. Let's start listening. I'm Hunter Prosper, and this is Stories From a Stranger. [camera clicking] Let's start.
