Quick Question: Why Are You So Annoying?

4/13/202652 min

It’s Harry and Meghan week in Australia, and we’re hoping for some big news in Jam World.  A lot has changed since the last time they were here and Clare Stephens waited outside the Opera House to touch Prince Harry’s hand. So what can we expect from the royal-not-royal tour?

Bieberchella has broken the internet and healed a lot of Millennial hearts. Between a $10 million pay check and a setlist that involved Justin dueting with his childhood self, Em Vernem is asking: Is this a profound moment of healing, or just a very expensive therapy session we were all forced to watch?

In other business, Melania Trump decided that this chaotic moment in world affairs was the right moment to make an unprompted address about her "friendship" with Jeffrey Epstein.

And Lena Dunham is releasing a memoir reflecting on fast fame. Her honesty about what peak spotlight did to her coupled with one of the world’s most profitable writers finally revealing her identity, Holly Wainwright is asking: If you could make the art and the money without the fame, why on earth would you choose to be known?

Oh, and as the Federal Government launches a campaign telling us all to do our bit for a potential fuel crisis, are you guilty of pantry-maxxing?

  3. Holly Wainwright· Host0:10

    Oh.

  4. Claire Stephens· Co-host0:11

[laughs] You, you have some... I was pau- I was paused because you had something in the script.

  5. Holly Wainwright· Host0:15

[laughs] I did, and I do. I'll bring that back. I was gonna do it at the end, and then I was like... Uh, I'm Holly Wainwright, and I've got a rogue Monday question before we get started- Ooh ... today.

  6. Claire Stephens· Co-host0:25

    Okay.

  7. Holly Wainwright· Host0:26

    From my friends here.

  8. Claire Stephens· Co-host0:27

    Yep.

  9. Em Vernon· Co-host0:27

    Okay.

  10. Holly Wainwright· Host0:28

    You are? You are?

  11. Claire Stephens· Co-host0:28

    Oh, I'm Claire Stephens.

  12. Em Vernon· Co-host0:29

And I'm Em Vernon, filling in for Amelia today.

  13. Holly Wainwright· Host0:31

I heard this heated debate in the office this morning.

  14. Claire Stephens· Co-host0:35

    Mm.

  15. Em Vernon· Co-host0:35

    Mm.

  16. Holly Wainwright· Host0:35

Like, you know how on Monday morning everyone's chitty-chatting in the kitchen?

  17. Em Vernon· Co-host0:37

Yeah. We're still going on with the weekend.

  18. Claire Stephens· Co-host0:39

    Mm.

  19. Holly Wainwright· Host0:39

Do you share a towel with the people you live with? Now, I know that you live alone, Emily- Mm-hmm ... but you grew up in a house with other people- I did ... so you get to answer this question, too. Do you share a towel? Like, not one towel, but, like, a- are there specific towels for specific people, or just general towels for use?

  20. Claire Stephens· Co-host0:59

So this is kind of one of the problems with my life. I share a towel.

  21. Holly Wainwright· Host1:03

    [laughs] What do you do?

  22. Claire Stephens· Co-host1:04

My husband doesn't know that. [laughs] My husband thinks- What do you mean, you share a towel? As in, like, if my partner's just got out of the shower and his towel's hanging up, I'll just use it.

  23. Holly Wainwright· Host1:14

    Jail.

  24. Em Vernon· Co-host1:14

    Yeah.

  25. Claire Stephens· Co-host1:14

Like, I'll just u- I'm like, uh, here's my theory. Immune systems. I think I have-- I reckon we should all be using each other's towel. I've been known to use someone else's toothbrush, and people get really mad. [laughs] And I'm like, I don't know.
