Psychologist Reveals: The Breakup Text That SHATTERED Her After 20 Years
7/15/202653 min
She knew him for over 20 years. They dated for 3. Days after he reassured her "we're fine," he hung up the phone and sent one text: I'm done.
In this deeply vulnerable episode of Unbroken, psychologist and bestselling author Vachiwa Glover opens up for the first time about being discarded - and why, 18 months later, she still hasn't fully healed.
This is not just a breakup story. Vachiwa breaks down the psychology most people never hear: the difference between a breakup and a "discard," why heartbreak can be genuine trauma, why you don't need to make your ex a villain to heal, and why forgiveness must start with YOU - not them.
Whether you're going through heartbreak right now or supporting someone who is, this conversation will change how you understand healing, closure, and your own mind.

Why does fiction sound real? Why was fantasizing about things in a relationship but struggle to bring it into reality?
Boakyewaa Glover· Guest0:38
I think fiction sounds real because a lot of fiction authors draw inspiration from real life. But we downplay heartbreak because I feel like that is the crux of the issue. There is breakups and there's also what they call discards, and there's traumatic heartbreak. And that is because trauma is not about the event. Trauma is about how we as individuals, our nervous systems interpret an event.

Wow.
Boakyewaa Glover· Guest1:06
Here's the thing that sometimes we do with a breakup. We start to be very angry and upset that we even dated someone like that. We're upset with ourselves that we couldn't see it coming. Someone like me, how could I let that happen to me? Because an ego thing comes in.
