2/5/20261 hr 39 min
In this podcast extra, John Kempf joins Ed Baumgartner, Founder, and Andrew Dixon, Business Development Manager, of BASS Hybrids on a BASSCAST to discuss regenerative corn production. They explore transitioning from chemical-heavy practices to biological systems using microbial inoculants like Biocoat Gold to improve soil health and plant resilience.
They also discuss:
Using Biocoat Gold as a biological seed treatment to set plants up for better long-term success.
The "rhizophagy cycle," where plants meet nutritional needs by recruiting and "consuming" soil microbes.

So, well, uh, John, uh, thank you for being here and, and joining Ed and I in a, in a discussion about, uh, AEA in, in corn and, uh, it's super exciting. I, you know, I've seen you talk a, a bunch of different times in a couple different Nexus events, and, uh, my brother and I came out to the, uh, event that you and, and Rick Clark did down there with, with Keith in, uh, in, uh, in Indiana right on the, the state line there. And, you know, rarely has it been, uh, you know, solely dedicated to, to say corn. Um, you know, where there's a lot of discussion about a bunch of different things. So I appreciate you spending some time with us today to talk about what you guys have going on and, uh, that being in a, in a, in a corn system.

Corn carries a lot of emotions for a lot of people. It's, uh, it's probably the one plant that has got more people addicted to it than marijuana.
Andrew Dixon· Host0:52
[laughs] Yeah.
John Kempf· Guest0:53
At least in the sense of growing it and collecting- Guilty. [laughs] [laughs] Yeah, it's an honor to be here. Thank you for having me here, Andrew. I've been looking forward to this.
Andrew Dixon· Host1:04
Yeah, yeah, I, I appreciate it. And, you know, and, and we've done a, a bunch of different things with, with AEA and have, uh, growers that are incorporated AEA into their system. And, you know, I, I, I'd love to get your take on, on what some of that looks like, how we can improve, uh, a, a corn system, um, with, with the use of, of whether it's AEA product or, uh, just a, an overall different approach, uh, in certain cases.
