    Yes, yes. In Rome, sometimes there were a lot of temptations for young men. Carnival was a time for indulgence. It fell before the Lenten fast. Folks would make sure to have plenty of rich foods and drinks. Meat, sweets, and wine were consumed in abundance. Large feasts were hosted by the wealthy, but even the poor participated in the festivities.
