There's a great lyric on, um, The Days We Left Behind, where you open the song and you say, uh, "Looking back at white and black reminders of my past."

  2. Paul McCartney· Guest0:07

    Yeah.

  3. Zane Lowe· Host0:08

It's really beautiful and honest and reflective, and it's not something I feel like I've heard you say many times before that explicitly. Like, I'm really going over and thinking about those times.

  4. Paul McCartney· Guest0:22

Yeah. You know, you get to a stage where you sort of remember, uh, your youth and stuff, you know? I mean, all through your life you do, but, um, now I go back up to Liverpool, and, uh, so I go to Dungeon Lane.

  5. Zane Lowe· Host0:39

    Mm-hmm.

  6. Paul McCartney· Guest0:40

You know, I, I kind of sometimes will do a tour for people. I'm like the tour bus. [laughs] You know, get my grandkids and they're like, "Oh, this is where we did that, and this is where I used to go." Dungeon Lane was funny 'cause it was where I used to kind of escape the housing estate and go down to the shore- Yeah ... which was, uh, kind of nice until the one day where I got mugged down there. There were a couple of local boys.

  7. Zane Lowe· Host1:12

You haven't lived until, until someone tries to take something off you- That's right. [laughs] ... by force.

  8. Paul McCartney· Guest1:16

[laughs] And they did. They took my watch. Yeah.

  9. Zane Lowe· Host1:20

Did you try and charm your way out of it?

  10. Paul McCartney· Guest1:21

Try- [laughs] ... but the, the, these boys were not being charmed.

  11. Zane Lowe· Host1:26

    They're not playing.

  12. Paul McCartney· Guest1:27

    No.

  13. Zane Lowe· Host1:28

It's funny, I looked at it on the map.
