PARIS FURY: Tyson Is the Heavyweight Champion But I’m The Boss

4/21/202656 min

Paris Fury is an absolute powerhouse of a woman. When At Home With The Furys first hit our screens, 2.6 million people tuned in to watch the first episode. We got a glimpse into life with former Heavyweight Champion, Tyson, and the rest of the Fury family. But for me, it was Paris who really stood out.

As Tyson’s wife of nearly 20 years, Paris has been with him through it all. From his boxing wins and losses to his mental health struggles and addiction - and all of that whilst raising their seven children together.

Paris has always been Tyson’s biggest supporter and the glue that holds the Fury family together.

In this episode, Paris shares:

  • Why her relationship with Tyson works
  • Why the misinformation about Travellers frustrates her
  • How Tyson’s mental health struggles have affected her and why she’ll always be his biggest supporter
  • Teaching her seven children to believe they can achieve anything
  • Her daughter Venezuela getting engaged at 16
  • A very special rendition of her go-to karaoke song

I loved every second of my conversation with Paris. She reminded me that you can do anything and be anyone you want to be. You’ve just got to go for it.

First 90 seconds
  1. Paris Fury· Guest0:00

I saw him go down. Saw him, lights go out, 10 seconds felt like two minutes. It felt like it went on forever. And I grabbed his brother, I said, "Climb over and get him. Get him." I thought, "He ain't getting up."

  2. Jamie Laing· Host0:12

What were you gonna do if you got to him?

  3. Paris Fury· Guest0:13

I presumed I was gonna peel him off the canvas. Unfortunately, it is his life. It's an addiction.

  4. Jamie Laing· Host0:19

I mean, was there a time when you wanted to run, wanted to leave?

  5. Paris Fury· Guest0:21

Yeah, I wanted to leave. Um, he would come home crying, he would be depressed, he'd want to end his life. And there'd be times when I'd look and think, "I can't deal with this. I don't wanna deal with this." Hi, I'm Paris Fury, and I'm in Great Company.

  6. Speaker 20:35

Cheese. [camera shutter] Let's get it on.

  7. Jamie Laing· Host0:38

[upbeat music] [punching] Tyson loves to sing at a boxing match. What's your karaoke song?

  8. Paris Fury· Guest0:41

Oh, you know which one it is.

  9. Jamie Laing· Host0:43

    Tell me something, boy.

  10. Paris Fury· Guest0:45

Are you happy in this modern world?

  11. Jamie Laing· Host0:49

That one. And if you at all.

  12. Paris Fury· Guest0:52

Is there something else you're searching for? And that's all you're getting. [cheering] [laughs] He told me from being 17, "I'm gonna be the heavyweight champ of the world," and there was no second best, and he done it.

  13. Jamie Laing· Host1:04

And what I love about Tyson, right, is that he is so open about his mental health struggles.

  14. Paris Fury· Guest1:08

He believed people around him was trying to kill him. He believed that Illuminati was getting him. It was like a full- Psychosis ... gone, yeah. Really, really bad.

  15. Jamie Laing· Host1:15

What are you going through at that point?

  16. Speaker 31:16

[gentle music] [upbeat music] Acast powers the world's best podcasts. Here's a show that we recommend.
