First 90 secondsRichard Porter· Host0:00
[upbeat music] I'm Richard Porter.
Johnny Smith· Host0:02
I'm Johnny Smith.
Richard Porter· Host0:03
And this is On the Other Side of Things, the Smith and Sniff spin-off in which we answer your questions. Once again, we answer questions from you, the listeners, and, um, you know what? I'm just gonna get straight in there.
Johnny Smith· Host0:19
Okay. Gosh, you really are a bold one today.
Richard Porter· Host0:22
I'm all about business.
Johnny Smith· Host0:24
Okay [laughs].
Richard Porter· Host0:25
Uh, this is from a, a listener called Dale, who says, uh, "Good evening, you pair of legendary flutes."
Johnny Smith· Host0:31
Legendary flutes. [laughs] Swell. [laughs] I don't know what that, that they would look like, but- He says he's got a question that came to him, uh, uh, during dinner- Oh ...
Richard Porter· Host0:41
with his wife. He said, "In a fit of midlife crisis, my wife decided some months ago to get her first tattoo." This sounds very familiar to me, um, and is why I now have a British Leyland logo on my arm- [laughs] ... in a roundabout sort of way. Uh, anyway, Dale says, "Cutting a very long story short, uh, she decided she'd like a very subtle dandelion seed motif on her wrist, and finally had it done by a friend. It's turned out very well."
Johnny Smith· Host1:03
What, a friend who could tattoo- Delicately subtle.
Richard Porter· Host1:05
I very much approve ...
Johnny Smith· Host1:05
or just a friend?
Richard Porter· Host1:05
[laughs] Yes, yes. Well, actually says a friend who was just starting out as a tattoo artist, but it has turned out well, so that's, that's nice.
Johnny Smith· Host1:11
Okay. Okay.
Richard Porter· Host1:12
Uh, "It's subtle and has personal meaning," he says. "She quite enjoyed the experience and suggested she might get more tattoos, to which I suggested a sleeve akin to an arm like a Wetherspoon's carpet might not suit her." [laughs] "And we shared a small chuckle. But this is where my brain got weird."
