[gentle music] Welcome to Friday's bonus edition of Off Air with Jane and Fi. Now, a real treat today. That's what we've got, isn't it? Massive treat. All of this started with a conversation about people being too whiffy on the tube. We received a beautiful email from scentologist Susie Nightingale. So she is the hostess of the On The Scent podcast and a magazine of the same name, and she devotes her life to the better understanding of smells and perfumes. Yeah. And just to say, I'm wearing today, um, Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Lovely, darling. Can you, can you smell it? No. Uh, that's because I've put on too much Chanel No. 5. Okay. Right. Sorry about that. Come on, let's bring in Susie. Uh, Susie, you're very, very welcome on the podcast.

And Jane, she smells fresh. Oh, well, thank goodness, 'cause the whole thing would absolutely collapse- Collapse ... right at the start. [laughs] If, if, if she'd- She'd come in and reeked ... scented some very, very bad beau. Just stunk the room out. Yes. Oh, it would've been embarrassing. Uh, we were so delighted when you emailed the podcast, Susie, 'cause all of this started with, uh, very, very highly perfumed people on tubes.

And I thought maybe I'd just gone a bit bonkers, or it's a post-COVID thing or something like that. [laughs] Um, but you allayed our fears about that, and there is something about modern perfume, isn't there?
