Live from NPR News, I'm Lakshmi Singh. President Trump says Saudi Arabia needs to establish diplomatic relations with Israel in order to complete an agreement that provides them US nuclear technology. NPR's Frank Ordonez reports the new condition throws the future of the agreement into doubt.

On social media, President Trump also said the deal would include no uranium enrichment. He said the deal is, quote, "Totally subject to Saudi Arabia joining the Abraham Accords," an agreement that normalized relations between Israel and several Arab countries. But Saudi Arabia so far has been reluctant to join, which now throws into question the nuclear agreement. The new deal would allow the Saudis to build power plants using US technology. It has raised many concerns across Washington and parts of the globe. Some leaders fear it could set off a nuclear arms race across the Middle East. Franco Ordonez, NPR News, the White House.
