Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Kristen Wright. The US launched another round of airstrikes on Iran overnight while Tehran hit back. NPR's Jane Arraf reports efforts continue to try to revive a collapsed ceasefire.

US Central Command said targets overnight included aircraft hangars and drone storage sites. Iranian state media reported explosions in seven Iranian provinces and said US attacks included a strike on an electrical installation close to a nuclear power plant. Iran said it attacked targets in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, countries with an extensive US military presence. Meanwhile, Yemen's Houthi rebels, backed by Iran, declared that a key Red Sea waterway, Bab-el-Mandeb, would be off-limits to Saudi Arabia. Jane Arraf, NPR News, Amman.
