Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Dave Mattingly. President Trump is threatening to expand the war with Iran and attack an underground site located next to an Iranian nuclear facility. That site is known as Pickaxe Mountain. Speaking to reporters at the White House yesterday, Trump said US forces would be hitting the area, in his words, "Pretty soon and very heavily." Trump added there's nothing Iran can do about it. The president made the remarks as the US military carried out an eleventh consecutive night of attacks against Iranian targets to try to stop Iran from striking commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. US Central Command says the latest strikes included ones on Iranian aircraft hangars and drone storage sites. Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has fired the country's top military commander. It's the second major shakeup in Kiev's military leadership in the last week. NPR's Greg Myre says Zelensky made this latest move following days of protests calling for the general's ouster.
