Live from NPR News, I'm Giles Snyder. Congressman Andy Biggs has won the Republican nomination for governor of Arizona, according to a race call by the Associated Press. From member station KJZZ in Phoenix, Cameron Sanchez reports.

Biggs will go on to face incumbent Governor Katie Hobbs in November. Biggs was considered a frontrunner from early on, winning endorsements from President Trump and the political arm of Phoenix-based Turning Point USA. The conservative Republican voted against certifying Arizona's election results in twenty twenty, refusing to acknowledge that Joe Biden won even after a GOP-led audit confirmed the results. But in the race for governor, Biggs has pitched himself as a more moderate candidate who can work across the aisle. For NPR News, I'm Cameron Sanchez in Phoenix.
