Live from NPR News in Washington, I'm Dan Ronan. US Central Command says the US resumed strikes against Iran Sunday, this for the ninth night in a row. The number of US service members killed in action has grown to three, two Friday in an Iranian strike at a base in Jordan, another killed in northern Iraq Saturday. NPR's Carrie Kahn reports.

Sirens blared throughout the Jordanian capital Amman late Sunday afternoon alerting to incoming missiles from Iran. Three were intercepted and a fourth fell in a remote area according to Jordan's military. There were no reports of casualties or damage. Earlier, the US Embassy in Amman had warned of a potential attack by Iran on the airport and seaport in Aqaba in southern Jordan. A Jordanian official denied an attack was imminent. Israel's military also issued a warning for its southern city of Eilat across the border from Aqaba. Iran has intensified its attacks on Jordan in recent days, targeting multiple military facilities US forces use in the country.
